The Malaysian Code of Corporate Governance 2017 (‘the Code”) requires the board to establish an effective risk management and internal control framework and disclose the features, adequacy and effectiveness of this framework. The disclosures concerning risk management and internal control in their company’s annual report needs to be done pursuant to the paragraph 15.26(b) of the Listing Requirements. This forum will discuss the challenges in establishing an effective risk management and internal control framework and difficulty in preparing a proper Statement on Risk Management and Internal Control (“SORMIC”) as a group.

  • To learn about better practices in preparing SORMIC as a group in line with the Listing requirements, Practice Note 9 and SORMIC – Guidelines for Directors of Listed Issuers.
